EventStorming is such a great tool to create a shared understanding of your business. Get fifteen people from various parts of the company in the same room, ask them to describe it with sticky notes, and magic ensues.

After the first 25 minutes, Billogram had filled the wall with sticky notes describing the events across their business. We then spent the rest of our two 3-hour sessions refining these into a coherent timeline and drawing boundaries around clusters of related events.

During this time, we had many meaningful discussions, some of which were postponed because they required a full meeting on their own. By the end, we had gained a lot of insights and had a clear view of the areas (subdomains) that together make up the business, as well as how they (should) map into the software system.

Thank you, Billogram, for letting us facilitate these EventStorming sessions with you. It's always nice to work with someone who brings up DDD before we get a chance to!

If you also need a way to get business and tech moving in the same direction, don't hesitate to get in touch! You can read more about EventStorming – and schedule a session – right here.
